Me + Bodie 4Eva 💙 >> My #cozyromance #wip is coming along nicely. Chapter two of final rewrites only has a few more pages to go. But tbh, I’m just excited to move onto writing the #cozymystery series I’ve been planning — starring Bodie, of course. 🌟

To keep things simple, I’m not letting myself write anything else just yet. I want to finish my pumpkin festival romance ASAP and start querrying it! Get this whole professional author thing going! 😉

My life doesn’t feel very extrovertable atm 😂 y’all — I’m just going to work, writing, and feeding Bodie his special new homemade food (ground lamb, liver, frozen vegetables, blueberries, rice).

My mantra lately is “you just gotta do it”. Super inspiring, I know, but I imagine it’s said in a kinda no-nonsense voice plus a casual shrug.

I’ve always felt a few steps behind everybody el

I’ve always felt a few steps behind everybody else. I was a B+ student at the top high school in MN because I got A’s in writing and B-‘s in anything that involved memorizing facts — while all my friends proudly had A’s on all their report cards.

My A’s in the English Department at SCU felt like a joke to me because, for me, it was so easy. I mean, I was writing stories and essays, not learning engineering! 😂

And when I chose to snowboard after college, I felt like everyone looked at me as a failure. All this education and she’s... well, she’s making $8.25 teaching kids how to snowboard.

Fast forward 10 years, I’m well into my career as HR Director, I’m a published author, The CEO of a side-hustle, I started a blog, and I still just feel... behind.

It also doesn’t help that, at 32 years old, I get carded — every time! 😂

I’m learning lately that we are not behind. We are choosing our own path.

Read that again. My path is different from my super successful (so proud!) siblings and friends. So the pace I go at cannot be measured next to theirs.

We are all given a gift in life. A talent, a passion, a gift. Mine is creativity and story telling, and being able to look at life in a unique way.

I believe (after an honest search) that the meaning of life is twofold— to love and be loved, and to use our gift to bring light into this dark world. To better it, somehow.

But the word “gift” is really important here, THIS gift is not given us to simply HAVE. It’s given to us to USE.

After all, it was made just for you ❤️

Don’t mind me. Just arriving fashionably late to my day job — coffee in hand, a bag full of journals, and my mind full of stories and made up characters. 😉

I feel like it is my mission this year to prove to myself all the “but I can’t right now”s WRONG. 👋🏻

Full time job? Psh, I can still write, edit, query, and publish a book in a year. 👑

And a full time family? Yep. I can still do it! And Bodie and the hubs are going to help. 😈

Love my bed and my Hallmark movies and snowboarding on the weekends? It’s called balance sweetie. Plenty of time and inspiration to get that book - and my future - locked in! 💅🏼
