Happy boy Do you listen to your dreams? I do. Dreams are our subconscious telling us what we need to know. If cool were a verb, we’d be doing it. My bf for life 🥰🥰🥰 I finally got a new phone so here are some very beautiful and artistically taken photos of Bodie pup. The second to last one is my fav. He really posed for it 👌🏻😭🤣 5 things I am loving right now. Yes, the last one will surprise you, but tbh, rejection is a blessing. Always. Unanswered prayers bring you to where you were meant to go. Not where you wanted to go. I thought I’d take a break from the writing reels and post a #snowboardselfie. My first passion: #snowboarding! It wasn’t until I fell out of love with snowboarding that I started writing with purpose. I wrote my first novel (unpublished on purpose) about a 17 year old who loses everything, moves to CA, and discovers life is worth living because of surfing (and a hot surfer boy). But there were a few years that I got caught up in “the scene” of snowboarding — where looking cool is cooler than just having fun — and so I struggled with it. I stopped progressing and felt stupid, like I “should be better” than I was. But just like with writing, I remembered recently that passion + purpose = progression. It’s just you and your board. Sure, there are other people around watching you from the chair lift, but it’s still just you and your board. If you hit that rail and do a cool trick, it’s your success, not theirs. And you’ll do A LOT better if you center yourself and forget them. The same is true for writing. Sure, people on social and friends and family are watching and waiting for you to get that publishing deal, but when it comes down to it, it’s just you and your passion putting in the work, writing with purpose, and showing up. There’s no point in faking it till you make it, imo. I’m where I am on this journey. And I’m present here, staying centered in my passion, and writing with purpose. Not projecting, or pretending, or going off course. I have a plan, and I’m making it happen. One word and one query at a time. It feels like… hmm… like I have a compass, and I finally know how to read it. ☺️ I wrote this so long ago because I didn’t know who I was. Now I know who I am, but I struggle to *be* myself. Our souls are made up of contradictions, and that’s what makes life so fun and interesting. But it’s also what makes it so confusing. Merry Christmas from me and Bodie pup! 🎄🎁🎅🏼
